AI Engineer Lead – Team Leader (70K)

About the role

The organization is a well‑established financial regulator in Hong Kong undergoing a digital transformation. It seeks an experienced AI Engineering Lead to design, develop, test and deploy AI‑powered solutions that support key business initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders to identify AI opportunities and deliver solutions using RAG, AI agents and workflow orchestration.
• Lead the full AI application lifecycle from proof‑of‑concept to production, ensuring testing, validation and governance.
• Design, develop and integrate AI services via APIs and Model Context Protocols (MCPs).
• Collaborate with data scientists, platform engineers, product owners and other technology teams in an agile, continuous‑delivery environment.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and promote best‑practice adoption.
• Mentor and manage a team of AI engineers, overseeing scope, timelines and delivery quality across multiple projects.
• Contribute to solution architecture, aligning AI capabilities with business goals and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of hands‑on experience in AI engineering, software engineering or data science.
• Proven track record delivering AI applications, especially Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) and generative AI solutions.
• Experience leading and mentoring technical teams.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, system design and SDLC.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure or Alibaba Cloud) and MLOps/LLMOps practices.
