Assistant Broadcast Engineer

About the role

The Broadcasting Operations team at The Hong Kong Jockey Club seeks an Assistant Broadcast Engineer to provide technical support for live horse‑racing coverage, promotional video production, and on‑site TV graphics. The role ensures that all audiovisual equipment meets the club’s high broadcasting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate studio cameras, CCU/virtual systems, and digital video server platforms.
• Configure microwave links for live camera feeds across racecourse locations on race days.
• Maintain and troubleshoot outside‑broadcasting equipment used for internal and external events.
• Perform regular maintenance on TV production hardware to guarantee reliability.
• Ensure all broadcasting activities comply with the Responsible Gambling Policy and relevant legal requirements.
• Assist the Manager, Broadcast Operations with additional technical duties as required.

Required profile

• Higher Diploma or Diploma in Electronic/TV Engineering, Media Technology, or a related field.
• At least one year of technical support experience in TV production; recent graduates are also considered.
• Experience in TV station environments or outside broadcasting of sports events is a distinct advantage.
• Knowledge of digital video equipment such as video cameras, nonlinear editing systems, and EVS video servers.
• Proficiency with PC software tools like AutoCAD.
• Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking.
