Data Center Engineering Operations Facility Manager

About the role

The Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO) team at AWS is seeking a Facility Manager to lead the day‑to‑day operation of critical mechanical, electrical, fire protection and control systems across our data centers. You will ensure safety, security, availability and performance while driving continuous improvement in a fast‑paced, 24x7 environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations and maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, fire protection and control systems.
• Lead and develop a 24x7 Engineering Operations team, including technicians and a Chief Engineer.
• Plan and execute preventive and reactive maintenance with minimal disruption.
• Create and maintain operational documentation such as MOPs, SOPs and EOPs.
• Drive expansion and improvement projects from concept through completion.
• Manage third‑party vendor performance against SLAs and contractual terms.
• Control CapEx and OpEx budgets to meet operational needs.
• Serve as primary point of contact for large‑scale events, outages and drills.
• Lead incident investigations, root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
