Global Financial Crime/Sanctions Legal Counsel

About the role

Binance is seeking a senior Global Financial Crime Counsel to act as the primary legal subject‑matter expert on sanctions, AML/CFT, anti‑bribery, fraud and market integrity. The role will shape the company’s worldwide financial‑crime legal strategy and provide authoritative advice across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead legal counsel on sanctions regimes (OFAC, UN, EU, UK) and AML/CFT frameworks, providing risk‑based advice for products and services.
• Serve as the main legal liaison with regulators, law enforcement and financial‑intelligence units such as FinCEN, FCA and MAS.
• Manage regulatory inquiries, investigations, enforcement actions and voluntary self‑disclosures related to financial crime.
• Oversee sanctions‑specific matters including license applications, SDN screening, counter‑party assessments and OFAC responses.
• Collaborate with global compliance, investigations and transaction‑monitoring teams to identify and mitigate legal risks.
• Develop and maintain financial‑crime policies, frameworks and training programmes for internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Qualified attorney with 10+ years of experience in financial‑crime law, covering sanctions, AML/CFT and related disciplines.
• Proven track record of direct engagement with regulators and law‑enforcement agencies (e.g., OFAC, FinCEN, FCA, DOJ).
• Experience handling voluntary self‑disclosures, enforcement actions and complex regulatory investigations.
• Strong understanding of financial‑crime risks in digital‑asset, payments and trading products.
• Excellent communicator able to translate complex legal risk into clear recommendations for senior management.
