Head of Pharmacy

About the role

The Head of Pharmacy will provide strategic leadership for pharmacy services, ensuring safe and effective medication management across a multidisciplinary team. This senior role requires a proactive approach to clinical governance and patient‑centred care.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate medication management initiatives within the pharmacy and broader healthcare team.
• Develop and implement pharmacy policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Oversee daily pharmacy operations, including staffing, inventory control, and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Mentor and manage pharmacy staff, fostering professional development and high performance.
• Collaborate with clinicians, nurses, and administrators to optimise therapeutic outcomes.
• Participate in shift duties as required to ensure continuous pharmacy coverage.

Required profile

• Bachelor in Pharmacy or equivalent qualification.
• Registered with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Hong Kong holding a valid practising certificate.
• At least 8 years of post‑registration experience as a pharmacist, preferably in a community pharmacy setting.
• Previous management experience in a pharmacy environment and completion of a relevant management certificate.
• Completion of a Course in Primary Healthcare for Pharmacists is preferred.
• Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in written and oral Chinese and English.
