Head of Quantity Surveying

About the role

Our client, a Hong Kong property developer with a large portfolio of commercial, residential and hotel projects, is seeking a Head of Quantity Surveying. The role leads commercial, contractual and cost‑control activities from feasibility through construction to handover, ensuring visibility, certainty and value in property expenditures.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, set up and implement effective contractual and cost‑control procedures, with periodic reporting and regular meetings to keep project costs within the approved budget.
• Develop and review contract strategies in collaboration with project teams and procurement to identify cost‑saving opportunities through commercial negotiation and value‑engineering.
• Improve supplier relationships by managing the appointment and performance of consultants, contractors and suppliers.
• Capture market and asset cost data, documentation and knowledge to support the Commercial Management function.
• Advise on procurement, contract, tendering and package strategies to secure projects effectively.

Required profile

• University degree in Quantity Surveying with a professional qualification (HKIS or RICS).
• Approximately 20 years of experience in contract administration and cost control within property development.
• Legal knowledge and background in construction law (advantageous).
• Strong commercial awareness.
