Medical Scientific Liaison – Oncology

About the role

The Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) – Oncology will serve as a hybrid field‑ and office‑based medical subject‑matter expert, driving high‑quality, compliant scientific exchange with healthcare professionals and internal stakeholders to improve patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide scientific and medical input to launch and cross‑functional teams (Medical, Commercial, Market Access, Regulatory) ensuring accuracy, balance and compliance.
• Build and maintain high‑impact scientific partnerships with oncology Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to gather insights and understand unmet medical needs.
• Lead scientific discussions between Abbott staff and external KOLs on Abbott products and therapeutic areas.
• Contribute to the initiation, execution and follow‑up of oncology clinical studies, real‑world evidence projects and Medical Affairs initiatives.
• Develop, review and adapt oncology‑specific scientific materials for external meetings, advisory boards and HTA submissions.
• Respond to medical queries from external and internal stakeholders and share feedback with cross‑functional teams.
• Support internal teams with non‑promotional scientific updates, launch readiness activities and medical training.
• Operate in strict alignment with medical governance, compliance and pharmacovigilance obligations.

Required profile

• Medical or scientific degree with strong expertise in oncology.
• Proven experience in scientific exchange with KOLs and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Understanding of medical governance, compliance and pharmacovigilance requirements.
• Ability to develop and present scientific content in a non‑promotional manner.
