Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

Join Mox’s high‑performing technology team to scale and evolve a cloud‑native digital bank in Hong Kong. You will work in small interdisciplinary squads, delivering high‑quality backend services that redefine modern banking.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and continuously improve backend systems and services.
• Develop RESTful APIs and event‑driven microservices.
• Design and operate reliable, scalable, and secure services.
• Write maintainable code with strong automated tests.
• Implement services in Kotlin or Java within a microservice architecture.
• Work with event streams and relational databases.
• Deploy and run services using containers and orchestration platforms.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and monitor production services.

Required profile

• Solid experience in backend development and CI/CD processes.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and microservice design.
• Hands‑on experience with event‑driven architecture.
• Strong API design skills, including backward compatibility.
• Ownership mindset for production operations and incident response.
• Quick learner with a results‑driven mindset.
• Effective collaborator in fast‑paced, cross‑functional teams.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Familiarity with AI‑assisted software development workflows.
