Senior M&A Tax Consultant – Hong Kong

About the role

As a Senior Consultant in the Mergers & Acquisitions Tax & Business Advisory team, you will support multinational clients throughout the M&A lifecycle, from structuring to post‑transaction integration. You will apply Deloitte’s policies, tools and global resources to deliver high‑quality tax advice for complex cross‑border deals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a deep understanding of target companies and assess tax implications of proposed transactions.
• Analyse economic impacts of indemnities, working‑capital calculations and covenants.
• Provide initial tax recommendations based on current M&A legislation to engagement leadership.
• Synthesize data to propose alternative structuring options that optimise tax outcomes.
• Leverage technology to enhance analysis and communicate findings effectively to clients.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Law or related fields; professional qualification (CPA, Chartered Accountant, Tax Institute) preferred.
• Solid experience in M&A‑related tax matters; exposure to Big 4 environment is an advantage.
• Strong command of written and spoken Chinese and English.
• Ability to work on commercial aspects of transactions and provide strategic tax advice.
• Proficiency in Chinese work‑processing tools.
