Commis III

About the role

The Commis III will support the kitchen team at Desert Islands Resort & Spa by Anantara, ensuring daily operations run smoothly and food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Stock the assigned kitchen station with raw materials and ingredients each day.
• Operate all electrical and mechanical kitchen equipment safely, following established precautions.
• Execute basic cooking techniques, including cutting and preparing daily mise‑en‑place for the assigned station.
• Prepare food items according to standard recipe cards while controlling portions and minimizing waste.
• Apply HACCP food safety and hygiene standards throughout food preparation.
• Clean and maintain all equipment in the production area.
• Report any hazards, unsafe conditions, or equipment needing repair to the supervisor promptly.
• Follow hotel fire and life‑safety/emergency procedures.
• Attend briefings, meetings and training sessions as required.
• Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene.
• Perform other reasonable duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• Ability to work in a fast‑paced kitchen environment.
• Willingness to follow safety, hygiene and emergency procedures.
• Reliability in reporting hazards and maintaining equipment.

Required skills

• Operation of electrical kitchen equipment.
• Operation of mechanical kitchen equipment.
• Basic cooking techniques (cutting, mise‑en‑place).
