Data Center Project Manager

About the role

Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation team is looking for a Data Center Project Manager to lead IT projects that support our global cloud services. You will ensure projects meet service delivery goals, adhere to safety standards, and contribute to continuous improvement across more than 200 data centers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Manage assigned IT projects, ensuring they meet service delivery objectives and stay within budget.
• Escalate obstacles to appropriate stakeholders and follow safety and security policies.
• Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) of incidents and support troubleshooting to meet SLA/OLA commitments.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, share best practices, and mentor peers across data centers.
• Review schedules proactively, avoid conflicts, and communicate potential customer impact.
• Maintain relationships with clients and suppliers, clarifying expectations and documenting agreements.
• Identify and suggest risk‑reduction measures for maintenance activities.

Required profile

• Strong focus on cost management and budget adherence.
• Commitment to safety and security procedures, with the ability to report issues promptly.
• Experience troubleshooting service incidents and managing escalations.
• Ability to recognize and plan for customer impact across multiple events.
• Excellent coordination skills for schedule management and stakeholder communication.
