Legal Counsel – Global Contracts (Asia Pacific, Hong Kong)

About the role

Lenovo is seeking a seasoned Legal Counsel to join its Global Contracts Team in Hong Kong. The role will support complex technology transactions across the Asia Pacific region, working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners. You will ensure contracts comply with regional laws and corporate policies while protecting Lenovo’s commercial interests.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate complex technology agreements, including cloud/SaaS, managed services, hardware‑plus‑services bundles, software licensing, data processing, OEM/ODM, reseller and channel contracts.
• Provide practical advice on technology risk, data privacy, cybersecurity, export controls and other regulatory matters for Hong Kong and other East and Southeast Asian markets.
• Partner with sales, procurement, finance and operations teams to enable timely deal closure while mitigating legal risk.
• Identify and escalate material risks and propose mitigation strategies aligned with corporate playbooks.
• Contribute to the improvement of contract templates, playbooks and deliver training to business stakeholders.

Required profile

• Law degree (JD/LLB/LLM) from a recognized institution in Hong Kong or Singapore.
• 8+ years post‑qualification experience in commercial contracting with a focus on technology agreements.
• Native‑level English with professional proficiency in Mandarin and Cantonese.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and drafting skills in a fast‑paced international tech environment.

Required skills

• Contract drafting and negotiation for cloud/SaaS, managed services and software licensing agreements.
• Knowledge of data‑processing, cybersecurity, export‑control and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Experience with hardware‑plus‑services bundles, OEM/ODM and reseller/channel contracts.
