Global Licensing Lawyer for Payments & Crypto

About the role

Coins.ph is seeking an experienced Lawyer to lead its global licensing and regulatory affairs initiatives. The role focuses on obtaining payments, e‑money, remittance and virtual asset service provider licences across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a licensing roadmap for the EU, Latin America, Africa, South Asia and Hong Kong.
• Prepare, review and submit licence applications, managing all regulator communications.
• Coordinate with external counsel, consultants and internal compliance, risk and operations teams.
• Monitor global regulatory developments, advise senior management on market entry risks and opportunities.
• Draft internal policies, licensing documentation and regulatory reports.
• Represent Coins.ph in regulatory discussions, industry associations and working groups.

Required profile

• LL.B. or higher with 5+ years post‑qualification legal experience, including at least 3 years in fintech, payments or crypto.
• Proven track record securing financial or payment licences in one or more target regions.
• Deep knowledge of payment services regulations, AML/CFT, e‑money and crypto frameworks.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills with regulators and external counsel.
• Excellent English communication and legal drafting; additional languages such as Chinese are a plus.
