About the role

The Substitute Teacher provides a supportive learning environment when the regular classroom teacher is absent, covering a range of age groups from early years to secondary levels. The role requires quick adaptation to the class’s needs and the ability to deliver planned lessons effectively.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop trusting relationships with students and their parents, ensuring continuity of care.
  • Collaborate with fellow staff members to maintain a cohesive school community.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver child‑centered learning activities that align with the school curriculum.
  • Facilitate classroom interactions using a balanced mix of teaching strategies.
  • Maintain classroom discipline and ensure a safe learning environment.

Required profile

  • Minimum three years of teaching experience with relevant qualifications.
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum development and lesson planning.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to varying class dynamics.
