Assistant Communications Manager – Public Relations

About the role

The Assistant Communications Manager will support the Public Relations team at Mandarin Oriental The Landmark, driving media relations, partnership initiatives and internal communications. Reporting to the Director of Marketing Communications, you will help shape the hotel’s brand narrative across local and regional markets.

Key responsibilities

• Handle daily press enquiries, organise photoshoots, and coordinate media/KOL visits.
• Prepare and distribute press kits, releases and giveaways, maintaining an up‑to‑date media database.
• Monitor editorial calendars, competitor activity and compile monthly PR performance reports.
• Manage relationships with bank and credit‑card partners, exploring new partnership opportunities to boost room, wellness and dining revenue.
• Draft responses to public enquiries in English and Chinese, and oversee translation of PR materials.
• Process departmental expenditures, liaise with vendors for printing, name‑card production and clipping archives.

Required profile

• Degree in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality Management or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in a luxury hotel environment.
• Fluent in English, Cantonese and Putonghua.
• Strong business acumen, storytelling ability and experience with digital content, social media and CRM strategies.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to engage with colleagues, media and guests at all levels.
