Director of Trade Compliance & Operations – APAC & China

About the role

The Director, Trade, APAC & China leads end‑to‑end trade outcomes for lululemon across the Asia‑Pacific region and Mainland China. This senior position is responsible for customs compliance, broker governance, duty payments, audit readiness and overall trade execution, aligning regional practices with global standards while navigating complex local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Set regional direction for trade operations, balancing global standards with local regulatory realities.
• Serve as senior leader for customs engagement, managing relationships with authorities, brokers and handling trade controversies.
• Define and govern the customs broker strategy, authoring statements of work and monitoring performance.
• Lead audits, inquiries, disclosures and escalation decisions in partnership with Trade Compliance CoE, Legal and Government Affairs.
• Collaborate with Fulfilment, Technology, Finance, Tax and Legal teams to deliver cost‑effective, scalable trade operations.
• Ensure audit readiness and compliance with duty payments across all APAC markets and China.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading trade compliance and operations in APAC and/or China.
• Deep knowledge of customs regulations, import/export processes and duty management.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with internal partners and external authorities.
• Ability to translate global trade standards into regional execution plans.
• Track record of managing audits, investigations and regulatory disclosures.
