About the role
We are partnering with a fast‑growing international digital entertainment platform to appoint a Legal Counsel to join its legal team. Operating across multiple international markets, the business develops and operates a portfolio of consumer‑facing digital products within established regulatory frameworks. This is a broad and highly business‑facing opportunity for a junior lawyer looking to gain exposure across commercial contracts, product advisory, intellectual property and regulatory compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including product development, technology, IP licensing, marketing and business partnerships.
- Provide practical legal advice to business and product teams on day‑to‑day operational and commercial matters.
- Conduct legal research and risk assessments for new products, features and business initiatives.
- Advise on product and regulatory compliance, covering copyright, content, intellectual property and other digital product requirements.
- Support the development and maintenance of internal legal and compliance policies, guidelines and procedures.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments across relevant jurisdictions and assess potential business impact.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to devise practical solutions to legal and regulatory issues.
- Develop and deliver legal and regulatory training to relevant business teams where required.
- Assist the wider legal team on other commercial, regulatory and operational matters as needed.
Required profile
- Approximately 2–3 years of relevant legal experience, gained in private practice and/or in‑house.
- LLB, JD or equivalent legal qualification with strong academic credentials.
- Qualification in a common‑law jurisdiction advantageous but not essential.
- Strong commercial legal foundation with interest in technology, digital products, entertainment and/or intellectual property.
- Excellent drafting, analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
- Comfortable advising across a varied range of commercial, product and regulatory matters.
- Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously in a fast‑paced international environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and confidence working with stakeholders across different functions and markets.
- Professional fluency in English and Mandarin; Cantonese capability advantageous.
