About the role

As a Manager, Software Design Engineer in Sun Life’s Global IT Technology Innovation team, you will transform promising AI concepts into interactive products that stakeholders can experience and evaluate. You will bridge business needs, user workflows, product design, and technology to deliver rapid prototypes and minimum‑viable products.

Key responsibilities

Lead rapid AI product prototyping, delivering functional web and mobile‑friendly proof‑of‑concepts within days to weeks.
Build responsive, performant front‑end applications using modern frameworks such as React.js/Next.js or Vue.js/Nuxt.js.
Design intuitive, user‑centered interfaces, journeys, and interactive mock‑ups that simplify complex AI workflows.
Integrate AI services, APIs, and models, balancing accuracy, performance, cost, and compliance with HK privacy regulations.

Required profile

Degree in Engineering or related field with at least 5 years of industry experience.
Proven track record in design engineering, rapid product development, or innovation consulting, supported by a portfolio of functional prototypes.
Experience working directly with business stakeholders, conducting discovery sessions, design workshops, and user testing.
Background in enterprise applications, internal tools, workflow products, or AI‑enabled interfaces; experience in insurance, fintech or other regulated sectors is a plus.
Ability to present and demonstrate prototypes to senior or non‑technical audiences.

Cloud/deployment: Vercel, AWS, Azure, Docker
