Producer, Global Digital Video

About the role

The Producer, Global Digital Video will create and deliver short‑form video news stories that engage CNN’s digital audience. Working in a fast‑paced newsroom, you will research, script, edit, and produce content for multiple online platforms, both from the office and on‑location when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Research, write scripts and edit video content for all digital platforms.
• Identify compelling angles on breaking news and develop creative storytelling approaches.
• Monitor live events, search trends and social media to spot audience‑focused story opportunities.
• Pitch and generate story ideas on a regular basis.
• Shoot video in studio or office settings and occasionally support field reporting.
• Experiment with emerging video formats and techniques across multiple platforms.
• Collaborate with CNN bureaus worldwide to coordinate coverage and gather content.

Required profile

• Video‑first storyteller who thrives in a deadline‑driven news environment.
• Accurate, fair reporter with a strong editorial sense.
• Independent worker comfortable writing scripts and editing projects solo.
• Ability to assess news value and use data to predict audience interest.
• Willingness to work a rotating weekend roster when scheduled.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Adobe Premiere for video editing.
