Racing Veterinary Surgeon / Stable Veterinarian

About the role

The Hong Kong Jockey Club is seeking a qualified Veterinary Surgeon to provide comprehensive care for racehorses during training and race days. The role combines clinical duties with specialised surgical services, ensuring the health and welfare of horses throughout their life cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver routine and emergency veterinary care to racehorses on training tracks and during race events.
• Perform specialised equine surgical procedures as required.
• Assess and certify horses for training and racing in line with Club health and safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for all treated horses.
• Collaborate with trainers, owners, racing officials and the veterinary team to develop and implement care protocols.

Required profile

• Degree in veterinary science registerable with the Hong Kong Veterinary Surgeons Board.
• Significant experience in racetrack veterinary practice.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Team‑oriented, professional and integrity‑driven attitude.
• Fluency in written and spoken English; Mandarin or Cantonese is an advantage.
