Senior FreeCAD Engineer (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior FreeCAD Engineer to join our remote team on a contract basis. You will be responsible for creating, modifying, and validating detailed parametric CAD models that meet project specifications while ensuring manufacturability and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Create, modify, and validate detailed parametric CAD models in FreeCAD.
• Develop and optimize mechanical assemblies using best practices for component integration.
• Apply GD&T and DFM principles to guarantee manufacturability.
• Generate precise technical drawings and documentation for engineering review and downstream processes.
• Conduct engineering QA reviews of CAD models and drawings, identifying and communicating issues.
• Utilize Python scripting to automate repetitive or complex modeling tasks (preferred).
• Collaborate with the team by providing feedback on model accuracy, design intent, and process improvements.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, product design, or related fields with a focus on parametric CAD modeling.
• Advanced proficiency in FreeCAD or equivalent parametric CAD platforms.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design fundamentals, including GD&T and DFM best practices.
• Proven ability to produce comprehensive technical drawings and documentation.
• Experience conducting engineering QA and verifying model integrity.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills for remote collaboration.
