Accountant

About the role

We are looking for an Accountant to join the Finance team of Jardine Matheson Holdings Limited. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will manage day‑to‑day financial operations, support ad‑hoc analysis and contribute to improvement initiatives across the Group.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse the Group’s financial performance, reconcile discrepancies and summarise information from portfolio companies for consolidated results.
• Assist in preparing timely and accurate financial reports, including monthly management accounts, forecasts, budgets, statutory accounts and Hong Kong tax computations and filings.
• Support the preparation of financial information for the Annual Report of Jardine Matheson Holdings Limited.
• Review and post month‑end closing entries and accounting transactions, ensuring compliance with policies, accounting standards and regulations.
• Help maintain reporting policies in line with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Collaborate with finance teams across portfolio companies, providing coaching and support on reporting requirements.
• Identify and implement initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of finance operations.
• Stay updated on changes to accounting standards, financial regulations and legislation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance.
• ACCA or HKICPA qualification or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of audit experience plus 2‑3 years of accounting experience.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, work under tight timelines and engage with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and reasoning skills, proactive, flexible and organised.

• Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
