Actuarial Internship Program 2027 (6.5 months)

About the role

Manulife's Co-op Internship Program offers a 6.5-month Actuarial Internship in its Manulife Tower location. As an Actuarial Intern you will support actuarial initiatives across pricing, valuation, business performance analysis, retirement solutions and risk management, working alongside experienced actuarial professionals and receiving mentorship and regular feedback.

Key responsibilities

• Support product pricing, conduct experience studies, analyse business strategies and prepare special quotations for life and health businesses
• Take part in actuarial valuation and gain exposure to evolving financial reporting requirements and actuarial methodologies
• Perform business performance analysis and prepare insights and reports for actuarial oversight in the regional office
• Help price new and existing retirement and pension products
• Assist in preparing financial analyses and management reports for business and actuarial leadership teams
• Carry out data analysis, validation and quality assurance of actuarial models and outputs
• Support risk management by implementing risk controls, monitoring key risk indicators and highlighting emerging risks

Required profile

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Risk Management or a related quantitative discipline
• Strong academic performance and a genuine interest in actuarial work and the insurance industry
• Positive learning attitude, good communication and presentation skills, fluent in written and spoken English

Preferred qualifications

• Knowledge of statistical software, actuarial tools or programming such as Excel VBA, SQL, R, Python or SAS
• Progress toward professional actuarial examinations or relevant academic projects
