Architectural Assistant

About the role

The Airport Authority Hong Kong is seeking an Architectural Assistant to support the design, delivery and handover of alteration and improvement projects at Hong Kong International Airport. This fixed‑term position (minimum 2 years) offers the chance to work on high‑profile aviation infrastructure while developing project management expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct architectural feasibility studies and prepare presentation materials for alteration and improvement works.
• Provide technical support to internal departments to obtain CAPEX approvals.
• Prepare tender documents and coordinate with in‑house and external consultants to ensure timely issuance and award of tenders.
• Work with inspectors and superintendents to guarantee safe, quality execution of works.
• Assist the lead Architect in managing contracts, budgets, schedules and operational objectives.
• Oversee smooth handover of completed works, tracking defects until final certification.
• Support the Architect in reviewing and monitoring tenant fit‑out works at the airport.

Required profile

• Degree in Architecture or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of architectural design experience, including 2 years in a project‑management role.
• Experience with transport‑related buildings, alterations, additions or fit‑out projects is an advantage.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and organisational abilities.
• Proactive, service‑oriented and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Fluent in spoken and written English and Chinese; knowledge of Putonghua is a plus.
