Architectural Technical Coordinator – Construction

About the role

The Architectural Technical Coordinator will oversee the integration of architectural designs with structural, services, landscape, façade and modular construction trades. This role ensures that all technical interfaces are coordinated, clashes are resolved, and the final built environment meets Hong Kong’s stringent building standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead architectural technical interface coordination across structural, building services, landscape, façade and MiC modular trades to resolve drawing clashes and sequence conflicts.
• Conduct regular technical coordination and monthly audits at off‑site MiC factories, verifying finishes, waterproofing, airtightness and façade joint details.
• Vet fully coordinated architectural, shop and mock‑up drawings; track submissions, consultant comments and revision logs.
• Establish approval workflows for materials, finishes, façade and MiC mock‑ups; monitor fabrication and site sample acceptance.
• Compile method statements, test plans and supervision schedules; assist the Resident Architect with progress reports and snag lists.
• Chair coordination meetings with factories, sub‑contractors and consultants; ensure all action items are closed.
• Arrange inspections for concealed works, finishes and waterproofing on site and at factories.
• Handle design variations and ad‑hoc proposals, updating coordinated drawing sets and construction guides.
• Oversee preparation of as‑built drawings, O&M manuals and factory completion certificates.
• Liaise with statutory authorities, consultants and sub‑contractors to resolve technical queries.

Required profile

• Bachelor or Higher Diploma in Architecture, Building Studies or related field from a recognised institution.
• Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience in architectural technical coordination on large‑scale Hong Kong public housing or government projects.
• Strong knowledge of the Hong Kong Buildings Ordinance, barrier‑free code, waterproofing and façade standards.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in Revit.
• Ability to perform clash detection using Navisworks.
