Assistant Finance Manager, Greater China

About the role

Our client, a long‑established firm with a global presence, is seeking a high‑calibre finance executive to join its Greater China team. Reporting to the Regional Finance Manager, you will supervise the accounting function and support strategic financial decisions across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and develop the accounting team (GL, AR, AP) to enhance technical and interpersonal skills.
• Manage day‑to‑day accounting tasks, including month‑end close, consolidations, and financial reporting.
• Prepare cash‑flow forecasts, handle cash management, and reconcile inter‑office balances.
• Support the annual budgeting process and monthly forecasting in collaboration with regional business units.
• Build relationships with business partners, explain performance data, and aid decision‑making.
• Provide guidance to China offices on accounting treatments, tax matters, and potential issues.
• Act as primary contact for auditors, tax officials, lawyers, and other third‑party professionals.
• Contribute to ad‑hoc projects, pricing analyses, and strategic investment evaluations.

Required profile

• Qualified CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional certification.
• 3‑5 years of experience, preferably trained in a Big 4 or CPA firm, within professional services.
• Strong technical accounting ability and experience compiling full sets of accounts for the region.
• In‑depth knowledge of the China market, financial regulations, and taxation.
• Strategic mindset with the capacity to handle detailed tasks when needed.
• Executive presence to interact confidently with senior management and stakeholders.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese.
