Assistant Professor – Strategic Management & HRM

About the role

The Department of Management and Strategy at Hong Kong Metropolitan University is seeking an Assistant Professor to develop its teaching and research portfolio in strategic management, human resource management and organisational behaviour. The successful candidate will be an early‑career scholar close to completing a PhD and will join a vibrant, interdisciplinary team that supports applied, industry‑facing research.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the three focus areas.
• Conduct high‑quality research, publish in leading academic journals and present at international conferences.
• Supervise bachelor, master and doctoral students on research projects.
• Contribute to departmental service, curriculum development and community outreach.

Required profile

• PhD (or near completion) in management, HRM, organisational behaviour or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated research potential with publications or working papers.
• Strong teaching aptitude and ability to engage diverse student cohorts.
• Interest in interdisciplinary collaboration and applied research relevant to Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area.
