Assistant Volunteer Development Manager

About the role

The Hong Kong Red Cross is seeking an Assistant Volunteer Development Manager to support the growth and engagement of its volunteer community. You will work closely with volunteers, internal teams and external partners to promote initiatives, coordinate programmes and enhance the organisation's humanitarian impact.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement promotional strategies to raise volunteer participation.
• Create communication materials for multiple channels to showcase volunteer initiatives.
• Coordinate and mobilise volunteers for organisation‑wide programmes, events and emergency response.
• Plan and deploy volunteer resources to ensure smooth execution of activities.
• Maintain volunteer readiness, monitor progress and recommend service improvements.
• Build strong relationships with volunteers to improve retention and development.
• Prepare proposals, budgets and reports for volunteer programmes.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to strengthen partnerships.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Social Science, Social Work or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in marketing, corporate engagement, volunteer services or event management.
• Strong marketing mindset with experience in promotions, campaigns and content creation.
• Excellent communication, writing and interpersonal skills in English and Chinese (including Putonghua).
• Creative, proactive, adaptable and able to work under pressure.
• Passionate about humanitarian work and volunteer development.
• Willingness to work on weekends or public holidays when required.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Design and video editing abilities (software knowledge is a plus).
