Associate Curator – Education & Learning Lead

About the role

The Associate Curator will lead the operation of M+ Academy, supporting research, course development, and the creation of digital learning resources that engage diverse audiences. Reporting to the Curator of Teaching and Learning, the role bridges museum curatorial work with professional education and strategic university partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with local, regional and international arts and education professionals to design and deliver professional development programmes.
• Plan and execute global educational campaigns and stakeholder‑engagement initiatives to raise M+’s visibility.
• Develop interdisciplinary curricula and accredited continuing‑education courses, both onsite and online, covering contemporary museum practice, curatorial studies, arts administration, visual art, design, architecture, moving image and cinema.
• Identify and nurture strategic partnerships with colleges, universities and cultural institutions.
• Research and produce digital learning resources aligned with curatorial themes and exhibition content.
• Support the Learning and Interpretation Team in all programme activities.

Required profile

• Recognised university degree, preferably in higher education, international relations, anthropology, humanities, cultural management or a related field.
• 6–10 years of experience in academic programme and curriculum development, course coordination, and project management of art, cultural or educational events.
• Proven ability to manage global initiatives, work across cultures and deliver projects in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong research skills and up‑to‑date knowledge of learning and engagement practices in contemporary museums.
