Associate – Structured Trade, Global Transaction Banking (Asia Pacific)

About the role

Join Santander's Structured Trade team in Hong Kong and help deliver innovative working‑capital solutions to global corporates across commodities, industrials, AI and data‑centre value chains. The role provides exposure to complex trade‑finance transactions and close collaboration with corporate sales, coverage and global product teams.

Key responsibilities

• Support origination, structuring, execution and ongoing management of Structured Trade transactions across Asia Pacific.
• Prepare client presentations, transaction structures, financial analysis, credit applications and profitability assessments.
• Analyse clients' working‑capital requirements and trade flows to design tailored financing solutions.
• Coordinate with Coverage, Corporate Banking, Risk, Legal, Operations and other internal stakeholders for efficient execution and portfolio management.
• Monitor transaction pipelines, utilisation, reviews and other portfolio‑management activities.
• Collaborate with regional and global Structured Trade teams on cross‑border transactions and contribute to product development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• 3–5 years’ experience with an international bank in Structured Trade/Commodity Finance or a major law firm in Banking & Finance.
• Familiarity with banking and finance law, regulatory and compliance concepts.
• Fluent spoken and written English and Mandarin Chinese; Spanish or Portuguese a plus.
• Agile mindset, self‑starter attitude and ability to work under pressure.
