Backend Software Engineer

About the role

As a Backend Software Engineer at Lalamove you will develop and maintain features for the User app and its associated APIs. You will optimise existing algorithms and create new ones to keep operations running smoothly while designing scalable systems for new products and services. The role supports rapid expansion by ensuring the platform can handle growing numbers of users, drivers and orders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and enhance backend features for the User application and related APIs.
• Design, implement and launch scalable micro‑services and algorithms to support product growth.

Required profile

• Quick learner who can adopt new technologies and frameworks.
• Detail‑oriented with a strong focus on backend scalability and performance.
• Effective communicator who keeps the tech team informed of updates.

Required skills

• 2+ years of backend development experience, preferably in Java.
• Hands‑on knowledge of middleware technologies such as Redis, ElasticSearch, Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Experience building micro‑services and RESTful APIs.
• Proficiency with MySQL databases.
• Familiarity with cloud services, especially AWS.
