Business Intelligence Intern

About the role

Asia Football Group (AFG), the exclusive commercial agency for the Asian Football Confederation's competitions from 2023-2028, is looking for a Business Intelligence Intern. This hands-on, 6-month internship supports the BI team across data management, analysis, visualization and research, producing accurate data outputs, analyses and presentation materials from real business datasets using in-house and third-party tools. It suits someone with career aspirations in sports or entertainment sales and marketing.

Key responsibilities

• Data management: operate, under guidance, existing syndicated data services and data platforms to extract data for internal functions; help clean, sanity-check and consolidate data from multiple sources into a master database and maintain it.
• Data analysis: support basic analysis under guidance to produce takeaways and insights for stakeholders.
• Visualization: build automation and visualizations for data presentation.
• Market research: conduct market and industry research to support sales, strategy and rights development initiatives.

Required profile

• University graduate with a bachelor's degree in Data Science, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline.
• Strong attention to detail and solid ability to interpret data.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including data consolidation, analysis and structured datasets.
• Strong PowerPoint skills, especially for clear charts, tables and presentation slides.
• Experience with statistical, database, social media and analytics tools (e.g. Power BI, R, Looker Studio, Google Analytics).
• Knowledge of Python and/or SQL is an added value.
• Team player open to learning, with a passion for data and the sports business; storytelling skills and knowledge of Asian football are an advantage.
