Cashier I – Retail Banking

About the role

We are looking for a diligent Cashier I to join our retail banking team. In this role you will manage cash operations, support customers, and ensure smooth branch functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Demonstrate efficient time management and effectiveness in daily tasks.
• Supervise the cash section, monitor cash balancing and ensure accuracy.
• Build rapport with customers, handling enquiries and requests skillfully.
• Take personal accountability for decisions, actions and risk mitigation while solving customer problems.
• Address customer dissatisfaction and provide alternatives in line with response guidelines.
• Support the Customer Service Manager as needed and perform other branch operational duties after banking hours.
• Assist team members to keep the branch on track and meet objectives.
• Act as dual controller of cash, opening and locking the safe.
• Supervise, count, sort and prepare cash deliveries to and from the Main Treasury, monitoring and estimating branch cash supply.

Required profile

• University graduate or Associate degree / Higher diploma / HKCEE / HKDSE with passes in Chinese, English and Mathematics.
• Retail banking experience with knowledge of general banking products and branch support.
• Solid banking experience in cash handling and branch operations.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently.
• Attentive to detail with strong problem‑solving skills.
• Customer‑service orientation and good understanding of branch policies, procedures, compliance requirements.
• Strong interpersonal skills and good written and verbal communication, fluent in English, Cantonese and Putonghua.
