Clinical Professor of Practice (Multiple Specialties) – HKU Medicine

About the role

The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Hong Kong (HKU) invites applications for multiple Clinical Professor of Practice, Clinical Associate Professor of Practice and Clinical Assistant Professor of Practice positions across a wide range of medical specialties. These are non‑tenure‑track, fixed‑term appointments (three to four years) with the possibility of renewal based on performance and funding.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and enhance clinical services within the assigned department or unit.
• Ensure the highest standards of patient care, teaching, and research.
• Foster academic collaborations both within and outside the university.
• Support the growth of clinical services and mentor junior staff.
• Contribute to medical education of undergraduate and postgraduate students.
• Participate in basic, translational, or clinical research activities.

Required profile

• Specialist Registration with the Medical Council of Hong Kong (or eligibility for certification).
• International recognition for professional expertise.
• Demonstrated excellence in clinical service, teaching, research, or knowledge exchange.
• Preferably experience in administrative or managerial roles in academic or healthcare settings.

Required skills

• Specialist registration in the relevant medical discipline.
• Expertise in delivering high‑quality clinical care.
• Proven ability to teach and mentor medical students.
• Capability to engage in or support research initiatives.
• Collaborative leadership and strategic planning.
