Co-op Internship 2027 – Fixed Income Investment, General Account Investment (6 months)

About the role

Manulife's Co-op Internship Program offers a 6-month placement in its Asia General Account Investment function, which acts as the in-house investment manager for roughly USD 116 billion of life insurance assets in the Asia segment. The team directs investments across asset classes and manages more than half of the segment's assets in equities, bonds, mortgages, alternatives and derivatives. This internship is open to H1 2027 intake, running from January 2027 to June 2027, with applications closing on 1 November 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with portfolio managers to support fixed income investment activities across global markets
• Assist in preparing investment reports and respond to ad-hoc requests
• Carry out analytical projects and process improvement initiatives to improve team efficiency
• Gain hands-on exposure to fixed income markets and a range of financial instruments

Required profile

• Undergraduate graduate in finance, economics or business administration, or a Master's degree in finance, economics, accounting or a related subject
• Strong academic achievement
• Demonstrated knowledge of accounting, finance or investment, with strong analytical techniques
• Familiarity with a variety of financial products and services
• Agile, creative and proactive in a fast-paced environment, with strong written and oral communication skills
• Attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, and a results-oriented, self-motivated approach

Required skills

• Solid computer experience in Microsoft Office
• Aptitude for learning new software packages
