Cook – Bistro Canter (Sha Tin Clubhouse)

About the role

The Bistro Canter kitchen seeks a skilled Cook to prepare menu items to the highest standards, maintain hygiene, and support smooth service operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen hygiene and cleanliness, ensuring tools are in good condition and stock is rotated correctly.
• Organise and check mise en place for the next service, tasting food for freshness and quality.
• Set up the cooking section as directed, minimise food waste and assist with food requisitions.
• Attend pre‑function briefings, troubleshoot kitchen issues and report unresolved problems.
• Provide on‑the‑job training and coaching to junior cooks.
• Comply with Workplace Health & Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, HACCP and food safety programmes.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of relevant experience in a reputable hotel or restaurant kitchen.
• Experience in producing cuisine food items and knowledge of basic ingredients, preparation methods and presentation.

Required skills

• HACCP compliance and food safety knowledge.
• Strong mise en place organisation skills.
