Data Center Technician

About the role

AMD is seeking a Data Center Technician to support enterprise and high‑performance computing environments. The role focuses on advanced hardware diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair, deployment and operational support to ensure system availability and service quality.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain and de‑commission servers, storage systems, networking equipment, GPU platforms and supporting infrastructure.
• Execute hardware diagnostics, root‑cause analysis and firmware troubleshooting for server, storage, network and accelerator issues.
• Perform component replacement, system validation and documentation following approved procedures.
• Serve as a Level 2 escalation point, analyze logs and alerts, and coordinate with engineering, vendors and cross‑functional teams to resolve high‑impact incidents.
• Support rack integration, cabling, power validation, inventory management, equipment audits and compliance with data‑center standards.
• Monitor environmental conditions, infrastructure health and participate in on‑call support and operational response activities.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, troubleshooting guides and contribute to continuous‑improvement programs.

Required profile

• Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electronics or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience supporting enterprise data‑center environments.
• Strong understanding of server hardware, storage systems, networking equipment and GPU platforms.
