Director, Legal and Business Affairs APAC

About the role

Warner Music Group is seeking a senior legal leader to serve as the Director of Legal and Business Affairs for the APAC region. Reporting to the Head of Legal and Business Affairs APAC, you will act as a strategic partner, guiding commercial negotiations, corporate governance and risk management across a fast‑moving music business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end drafting, review and negotiation of commercial agreements, including music rights acquisition, content licensing, talent engagement, brand collaborations and technology services.
• Negotiate operational and procurement contracts such as vendor arrangements and consultancy engagements, ensuring protection of legal and commercial interests.
• Provide timely, business‑oriented legal advice on digital distribution, platform strategy and emerging business models.
• Support M&A activities, corporate governance and risk‑management initiatives across the APAC portfolio.
• Drive legal process improvements to enable scalable growth and operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in commercial contract negotiation and drafting within the entertainment or media sector.
• Strong understanding of music rights, content licensing, digital distribution and technology agreements.
• Proven ability to deliver pragmatic legal counsel that balances risk with commercial objectives.
• Experience working in or advising on APAC‑based businesses.
• Leadership skills to manage cross‑functional partnerships and drive strategic initiatives.
