Director of FCSO Investigations

About the role

We are seeking a Director to lead the transition from FCC to FCSO in Hong Kong, overseeing investigations, regulatory compliance and risk management within the financial crime domain.

Key responsibilities

• Lead execution of the transition from FCC to FCSO according to the Process Universe Transformation schedule and deliverables.
• Design and support the Country/Client business operating model, ensuring adequate people, processes, tools and systems for FCSO controls.
• Set and implement vision, strategy and direction for the department in line with group objectives.
• Analyse impact of financial crime regulatory matters and communicate changes across the country.
• Provide advice on regulatory expectations, laws, best practices and policies related to FCSO.
• Supervise the FCSO Controls team for day‑to‑day BAU activities and investigations.
• Conduct investigations of suspicious account activity and, where required, submit SARs to law enforcement agencies.
• Ensure compliance with AML, CDD and sanctions policies in all operational activities.
• Lead, coach and develop direct reports, fostering a culture of openness, trust and risk awareness.

Required profile

• A recognised university degree or professional qualification in Law, Finance, Accounting, Business or related fields.
• Minimum 10 years of AML / transaction monitoring experience with strong analytical judgement.
• In‑depth knowledge of local regulatory requirements and AML best practices.
• Professional certifications such as ACAMS or equivalent are preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
