Duty Engineer – Maintenance & Guest Services

About the role

The Duty Engineer provides on‑site technical support for guest rooms and hotel facilities, ensuring all equipment operates safely and efficiently. You will respond to repair requests, perform preventive maintenance, and uphold the highest standards of service and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests and communicate solutions promptly.
• Carry out preventive maintenance on kitchen, mechanical, and HVAC equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Visually inspect tools, machines, and building systems; identify and operate shut‑off valves.
• Maintain inventory of parts and supplies; requisition items as needed.
• Document daily activities and hand over information to subsequent shifts.
• Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood‑trim repairs.
• Test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, plumbing, and mechanical items (e.g., light bulbs, A/C filters, toilets, drains).
• Program televisions, manage housekeeping‑related inventory, and perform landscaping and sprinkler repairs.
• Apply Lockout/Tagout procedures before any maintenance work.
• Follow all safety, security, and company policies.

Required profile

• Basic knowledge of air‑conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, and kitchen equipment.
• Ability to acquire additional technical knowledge as required.
