Electrical Supervisor – Water Plant

About the role

ACCIONA seeks an experienced Electrical Supervisor to lead the operation and maintenance of high‑voltage/low‑voltage power systems at a water treatment facility in Hong Kong. The role involves supervising technicians, ensuring system reliability, and supporting emergency response during adverse weather conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise operation, inspection, preventive and corrective maintenance of HV/LV power systems, including substations, transformers, switchgear, variable speed drives and distribution networks.
• Lead technicians and contractors in troubleshooting faults, diagnosing issues and implementing repair solutions to minimise downtime.
• Plan, oversee and monitor installation, testing, commissioning and optimisation of electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with EMSD Code of Practice and statutory requirements.
• Review technical reports, maintenance records and performance data, providing recommendations for system improvements and asset optimisation.
• Coordinate power system studies, network upgrades and enhancement projects such as load flow and fault analysis.
• Supervise routine and emergency maintenance of pumps, HVAC systems, backup generators and other utility systems.
• Monitor contractor performance and enforce safety, quality and environmental standards, including LOTO and confined‑space procedures.
• Participate in emergency response and recovery activities during equipment failures or typhoon conditions.

Required profile

• Higher Diploma or above in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in power systems, utilities or infrastructure facilities, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Valid Grade B Certificate of Registration of Electrical Worker (Grade H or above is an advantage).
• Experience in water treatment plants or critical installations preferred.
• Confined Space Worker Certificate preferred.
• Good command of written and spoken Chinese and basic English.
