Equestrian Rider, Coach and Saddler Positions

About the role

The Hong Kong Jockey Club’s Equestrian Affairs Department is seeking experienced equestrian professionals to join its team. Roles include Equestrian Rider & Coach, Performance Jumping Coach, Senior Equestrian Coach and Qualified Bench Saddler. Successful candidates will deliver riding lessons, develop competition horses, lead show‑jumping programmes and provide full saddlery support across four equestrian centres.

Key responsibilities

• Retrain and school horses for lesson and competition use.
• Deliver riding lessons and support livery clients.
• Lead show‑jumping and youth squad programmes, overseeing rider and horse development.
• Coach riders at all levels and manage competition preparation.
• Provide a complete range of saddlery services, including fitting, maintenance and repairs.

Required profile

• Relevant equestrian qualifications and proven experience in coaching or saddlery.
• Ability to work with beginners through elite athletes.
• Strong commitment to horse welfare and safety.

Required skills

• BHS Stage 3 or above
• IGE​Q International Level 1 (or equivalent)
• BHS Performance Coach / BHSI
• IGE​Q International Level 3+ (or equivalent)
• Qualified bench saddler with at least five years’ experience
