Equestrian Riding Staff – Conghua Racecourse

About the role

The Equestrian Riding Staff will work at Conghua Racecourse, handling and training horses for daily exercise, competition preparation, and various riding activities. The role requires strong horsemanship, deep knowledge of equine behavior and welfare, and the physical ability to manage horses both on the ground and under saddle.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in assessing and planning re‑training activities for horses.
• Design and document exercise and training programmes to transition horses to riding careers.
• Conduct daily riding and ground work, including hacking, lunging, jumping, and road training.
• Support veterinary visits and collaborate with vets and farriers on horse health management.
• Implement varied training programmes across different environments (grass, arena, tracks, roads).
• Train and supervise Equestrian Assistants in horse handling.
• Handle day‑to‑day scheduling, planning, and any operational tasks assigned by management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in horsemanship and horse handling.
• In‑depth understanding of equine behavior and welfare standards.
• Physical fitness to ride and work with horses safely.
• Ability to work collaboratively with veterinary and farrier teams.
