Event Manager

About the role

The Event Manager will lead banquet and event operations at our Hong Kong location, ensuring seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction. You will coordinate staff, manage event setups, and uphold Marriott’s high standards of hospitality.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise staff teamwork, grooming, and attire, correcting deficiencies as needed.
• Communicate with guests, employees, and departments to meet event requirements.
• Arrange and set up banquet areas, ensuring cleanliness, proper furniture placement, and equipment readiness.
• Inspect table setups for compliance with group specifications and company standards.
• Document relevant information in departmental logbooks.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, and motivating employees.
• Maintain compliance with company safety, security, and appearance policies.
• Welcome guests, anticipate service needs, and provide courteous assistance, including support for individuals with disabilities.
• Perform physical duties such as lifting, moving, and arranging items up to 50 lb unaided and heavier items with assistance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year related work experience in event or banquet operations.
• At least 1 year supervisory experience.
• No specific license or certification required.
