Finance Manager – Commodities Trading (50k-60k)

About the role

We are looking for a versatile Finance Manager to lead the finance function within a fast‑moving commodities trading business. The role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on execution, covering day‑to‑day accounting, balance‑sheet governance and international cash collections.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts with a focus on balance‑sheet integrity, including AR/AP, inventory valuation, accruals and inter‑company reconciliations.
• Execute complex journal entries, key account reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Own the end‑to‑end international cash collections cycle and manage commercial credit control while maintaining strong buyer relationships.
• Serve as primary contact for external auditors, preparing audit schedules and statutory financial statements.
• Develop and enforce internal control frameworks and risk mitigation processes across trading and operations.
• Lead, mentor and develop a small finance team and act as a communication bridge between traders, operations and senior leadership.

Required profile

• Qualified Accountant (CPA, ACCA or equivalent).
• Proven experience in trading, commodities or manufacturing environments, preferably with exposure to FX or hedging.
• Direct experience managing external auditors through a full statutory audit cycle.
• Demonstrated ability to work hands‑on (journals, reconciliations) while contributing to strategic discussions.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills for managing a small finance team and collaborating with non‑finance stakeholders.
