Finance Manager - Hong Kong and Singapore

About the role

The Financial Times is looking for a Finance Manager to lead financial control, reporting and compliance for its entities in Hong Kong and Singapore, while contributing to regional finance initiatives across Asia. The role works closely with finance teams and stakeholders in multiple markets and offers the chance to develop broader regional experience and improve processes, controls and capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee accounting and financial activities for the Hong Kong and Singapore entities, ensuring accurate records and robust internal controls
• Review balance sheet reconciliation accounts, supervise external auditors on statutory audits and coordinate with the Manila-based Accounting Service team
• Prepare annual operating plans and forecasts, manage treasury and cash flow, and coach the local finance team
• Support financial control and reporting for newly set up or acquired Asia legal establishments
• Manage profits tax filing, liaise with the tax advisor and UK tax team on transfer pricing, and evaluate tax implications of transactions
• Coordinate company secretarial work, manage relationships with auditors, bankers and secretarial providers, and implement group tax and IT initiatives
• Provide financial insights and analysis to support business decisions and planning
• Review and approve payroll, oversee travel management and corporate credit card programs, support crisis management and office administration

Required profile

• A technically strong qualified accountant with an audit background is preferable
• Experience in a similar role with a multinational background
• Experience preparing statutory accounts and good working knowledge of IFRS and internal controls
• Tax knowledge in the APAC region
• Fluent English; Mandarin is an added advantage
