Financial Accountant – Shared Services

About the role

We are seeking an Accounting professional to join our client, a leading retail organization, within its Finance Shared Service team. In this role, you will support accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting for assigned business entities.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor assigned month‑end closing activities against Group reporting timelines.
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations and other accounting outputs for accuracy and completeness.
• Identify accounting differences, unusual items and missing information, and follow up on their resolution.
• Follow up on outstanding and reconciling items with relevant stakeholders.
• Escalate significant exceptions to senior team members and identify recurring issues.
• Collaborate with business units, SSC teams and other stakeholders to resolve accounting issues.
• Support internal and external audits by providing schedules, evidence and explanations.
• Participate in process and control improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Relevant accounting experience, preferably in a shared service, outsourced finance or multinational environment.
• Practical knowledge of journal entries, account reconciliations, month‑end closing and financial reporting.
• Good understanding of accounting principles, financial controls and general‑ledger processes.
• Ability to identify accounting differences and follow up on outstanding issues.
• Qualified member of HKICPA, ACCA or equivalent is preferred.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving skills, attention to detail and a sense of responsibility.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, formulas).
• Experience with Oracle ERP systems.
• Experience with SAP ERP systems.
