Fund Accountant

About the role

The Fund Accountant will be responsible for preparing NAV calculations, financial reports and maintaining fund accounting records for private equity funds. This role supports fund launches, closings and operational enhancements while ensuring accurate investor reporting and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual fund NAV calculations and related financial reports.
• Maintain general ledger, capital accounts and fund accounting records for private equity funds.
• Process capital calls, distributions, management fees, carried interest and other fund‑related transactions.
• Coordinate with external fund administrators, custodians, auditors, tax advisors and other service providers.
• Assist in preparing audited financial statements and regulatory filings.
• Support portfolio valuation and maintain investment schedules.
• Reconcile cash, investment positions and investor capital activities.
• Prepare investor reporting, including capital account statements and performance reports.
• Support fund launches, fund closings and operational improvement initiatives.
• Participate in ad‑hoc projects and process improvements within the finance function.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of fund accounting experience in private equity, asset management, fund administration or financial services.
• Strong knowledge of private equity fund structures, capital calls, distributions, waterfalls and partnership accounting.
• Familiarity with IFRS, HKFRS, US GAAP or other relevant accounting standards.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with investors, auditors and internal stakeholders.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with fund accounting systems such as Investran, eFront, Yardi or similar platforms.
