Global Markets Compliance Director (Fixed Income & Structured Products)

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned compliance professional to lead global markets compliance for a leading Chinese securities and investment banking group operating in Hong Kong and mainland China. The role focuses on fixed income and structured products, ensuring the firm meets all regulatory requirements in a highly regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures to ensure regulatory adherence.
• Lead a team of compliance staff, providing guidance and performance management.
• Advise business units on compliance matters related to global markets products.
• Monitor regulatory changes, assess their impact, and communicate implications.
• Deliver compliance training and guidance to internal stakeholders.
• Oversee regulatory reporting obligations and submissions.
• Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify and mitigate compliance risks.
• Collaborate with internal and external parties to resolve compliance issues.
• Maintain relationships with regulatory bodies and ensure timely communication.
• Prepare reports and updates for senior management on compliance matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with 10‑12+ years of compliance experience in global markets.
• Deep product knowledge of structured products and fixed income.
• Proven leadership experience managing compliance teams.
• Experience interacting with regulatory authorities and handling reporting requirements.
• Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English.
