Human Resources Business Partner

About the role

Wall Street English Hong Kong is seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to act as the strategic and hands‑on HR lead for the market. Reporting to the General Manager with a dotted line to the VP of Human Resources, the HRBP will partner with senior leadership to translate business priorities into people plans that attract, develop, and retain top talent.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations matters, handling cases with discretion and sound judgment.
• Own end‑to‑end monthly payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and coordination with finance.
• Maintain compliance with the Hong Kong Employment Ordinance, MPF, statutory leave, and working‑hour regulations.
• Manage core HR operations including contracts, onboarding, HRIS data integrity, and policy administration.
• Advise managers on performance management, disciplinary actions, and change initiatives in line with local law.
• Design and deliver talent management programs such as performance calibration, development planning, and succession building for critical roles.
• Identify and nurture high‑potential employees, champion internal mobility, and build talent pools to support growth.
• Lead the annual engagement survey and pulse‑check programs, translating insights into actionable plans and tracking their impact.

Required profile

• Proven experience in employee experience and talent management within Hong Kong.
• Solid generalist HR knowledge covering recruitment, employee relations, payroll, and compliance.
• Deep understanding of Hong Kong employment legislation and statutory requirements.
• Ability to act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and influence people strategy.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret attrition, engagement, and talent data.
